I am always asked "How is the real estate market here in Tulsa?" Answer, "Great!" Really! While there are many changes taking place in the commercial and residential markets, the overall picture is strong and incentives are unbeleivably attractive. Home sales have fallen slightly in the metro area and prices have maintained but bank foreclosures have presented opportunities for investors and homeowners who have been waiting to cash in. Current government decisions will likely make owning rental property a valued asset in the near future. If you would like to discuss the options real estate will afford you as an investment or why now is thee best time in years to buy a home, call my office or emaill. 918-258-2600 or www.darrylbaskin.com

"A political party is a mechanical structure created to further a cause. The cause, not the mechanism, brings and holds the members together...I believe the Republican Party can hold and should provide the political mechanism through which the goals of the majority of Americans can be achieved." ---Ronald Reagan

Senate Votes to Boost Aid for Homebuyers
By DAVID ESPO
AP
WASHINGTON (Feb. 4) - The Senate voted Wednesday night to give a tax
break of up to $15,000 to homebuyers in hopes of revitalizing the
housing industry, a victory for Republicans eager to leave their mark
on a mammoth economic stimulus bill at the heart of President Barack
Obama's recovery plan.
The proposal would allow a tax credit of 10 percent of the value of
new or existing residences, up to a $15,000 limit. Current law
provides for a $7,500 tax break but only for first-time homebuyers.
Isakson's office said the proposal would cost the government an
estimated $19 billion.
Democrats readily agreed to the proposal, although it may be changed
or even deleted as the stimulus measure makes its way through Congress
over the next 10 days or so.
